Valve have a great, mischievous sense of humour. Their games are often full of little secrets, surprises and other easter eggs for players to find. Of course, they're not always in the most obvious of places. We've scoured Aperture Laboratories in search of all the cool little extras Valve have hidden away, and put them in this handy little guide to help you discover them for yourselves. Look, there are even fancy videos to show you how to get to the trickier ones! Some of these secrets are quite far into the game, and in order to show you where they are, we have had to include a few minor spoilers, so be warned! Known as 'Rat Holes' in the community, these are little areas behind the bright white walls of the test chambers.

Tucked into Aperture Science's cobwebby recesses are hidden areas that shed light on Aperture's past and the enigmatic Caroline -- and even hint at the connection between Portal and Half Life 2. As if that wasn't reason enough to get exploring, you'll also get several Achievements for poking your nose where it doesn't belong. You'll know you're in the right area when Cave Johnson starts yammering about testing on hobos.

This is almost as easy to find as the First Den, although it can be missed. Portal 2 is a game awash with interesting secrets just waiting for the inquisitive fan to discover, and discover we have. Knowing Valve , there is almost certainly a message hidden in the static but, despite our best efforts, we couldn't decode it can you? The Singing Turrets easter egg is located near this den, but will be covered seperatly, as it is not directly related to the Rat Man. Taken in context, the image's purpose isn't clear. To reach it, you need to use the Ariel Faith Plates to launch yourself towards the portal-surface plate sticking out of the wall on one side the lower one to the right.
