Most of you know that I generally fill my summer up with construction projects around the house and for hire. This summer has been no different. So far the for hire projects have included some sheetrock repair, hanging a new exterior door, fixing some rotten entry ways, enlarging some closets, new bathroom faucets, new kitchen plumbing, and a full bathroom remodel that had the room down to the studs and included new tile, shower, and walls. Being a stay at home dad Tuesday through Thursday , this summer has been a blast, but unlike the previous years I now have a baby to take care of as well as an almost 4-year old. Needless to say this puts a damper on how much time I can spend playing with Annelise. As soon as we start something, Julianna needs her diaper changed or a bottle. Adding to this is the fact that the normal outlets for stay-at-home-moms are not available to a stay at home dad.

With summer right around the corner, my mommyhood is in full force! I have been excitedly planning fun crafts, play-dates, and outdoor activities I can do with my children. I love homemade sprinkler ideas, especially since the temperatures in the summer can get extremely hot and not every commercial sprinkler offers the lawn adequate TLC while also supplying the kids with their very own PVC water park. I went to the store with an idea in my head that my husband kindly chose to trust without question. Thankfully, that idea was contagious, and he envisioned it so well that he bought the very pipes we needed and set to work on the project as if he required no instruction at all. Tagging along every step of the way was our son Tristan. Upon returning home, the construction crew carried on the vision by measuring and cutting all the pipes first. Then they laid them out on the pavement and dry-fitted the sprinkler to make sure all the parts were present before gluing. Landscape Fabric Pins. When you have all your cuts done, refer to my pictures on how to lay them out and do a dry-fitting first. Once you have all the parts dry-fitted, take the sides apart from the top, and use your pipe cleaner and then your glue to adhere your pipes together. Once you put the glue on, you need to quickly insert the other pipe before it dries. It will take two people at the end to hold up sides as you glue the top on. Next, add in your threaded coupling and metal hose-connector and this is where you connect your garden hose to the sprinkler to bring water to it.

I settled for lots of PVC, some small and large foam noodles, a sheet of pink high density foam house wrap, pvc water park sprinkler, and lots of spray paint the kind that is made for plastic. Come by and let your kids play sometime…the park is always open!

Damage in some cases has resulted in damage of the pipework and water leaks. CPVC is resistant to most water soluble chemicals but is not resistant to hydrocarbon based chemicals. This can result in pipes and fittings becoming brittle and fracturing. The industry is aware of this issue and manufacturers of CPVC fire sprinkler pipes and fittings are now providing access to product compatibility lists, to ensure contamination of and resulting damage of the CPVC pipes is avoided.
