Do you remember what you were like 17 years ago? I do, unfortunately. In , I was a little year-old shithead who was starting to discover the edgy humor of the mids. Written and illustrated by cartoonist Jeph Jacques, Questionable Content debuted on August 1st, , during the early days of the webcomic rush. Starring misanthropic something indie rocker white boy Marten Reed, his perverted robotic sidekick Pintsize, and his friend-but-maybe-more-someday Faye Whitaker, QC fit comfortably into the increasingly popular medium. In its first few hundred strips as of this writing, the series is on comic 4, , QC established itself as an edgy, punchline driven sitcom with a sexual edge and occasional music snob joke to solidify its era-appropriate voice. The first or so strips are…painful to get through from a perspective. Little more than hair or glasses differentiate the characters. Jokes and banter routinely focus on ghoulish subjects like rape and assault, and none of the characters are remotely close to likable. With Strip , however, Jacques tried something new. To be clear, this arc is not good. A running joke among QC fans, one that Jeph himself acknowledges, is his tendency to expand the cast. All three of them are, initially, little more than thoroughly problematic stereotypes whose roles in the series entirely revolve around their relationship to Marten.

It is a very positive strip that purposefully avoided the topic of the pandemic, and I am so thankful JJ decided qc questionable content do that! Questionable Content. I think Jeph Jacques hates his comic. First off we get Faye and the red robot developing a relationship, because in the many years of the comic we've NEVER seen Faye show any kind of interest for women, let alone robot women Let's assume they come with a vibrate setting. The t-shirts are a savory bonus added to a stew of awesome. Why use one word when you can use ten? You see, despite always having fat chicks in the comic and having other characters treat them as sexy, to people from tumblr it wasn't enough. I only use photoshop for final layout and occasional other image editing. By , Jacques could support himself and his then-partner based on income from merchandise and advertising sales. Mostly it isn't enough because Jeph just always draws the same thing. And worst of all, it never got funny.
