As I have been reading through the forum I have noticed that many people are constantly asking and wondering about these 2 specific dinos: The Giga and the Quetzal. Not to worry, for the Quetzal is here to help you soar across the sky with ease. You just need to tame one first. These winged creatures are as helpful as they are rare in Ark: Survival Ascended. The Quetzal is an incredibly useful creature to tame in Ark. Being the largest flying and tameable animal, capable of withstanding weights that no land creature can, the Quetzal is the go-to Ark animal to carry your goods from one place to another. Tremendously nourishing by itself, this egg provides exceptional nutritional value in many cooking recipes. Quetzal Eggs are randomly dropped by Quetzals. After two Quetzals mate , the resulting egg can be hatched into a baby Quetzal. Grabbing an egg in the presence of wild Quetzals will cause them to become hostile and attack the survivor. The Quetzal Egg takes 16h 39m The female Quetzal needs between 18h and 2d before having the capacity to lay eggs again. The egg can also be used to tame an Oviraptor. Retrieving a Quetzal Egg in the wild can be a surprisingly dangerous endeavor. Despite their usual skittish nature, a Quetzal provoked to anger is a dangerous adversary considering their health, speed, stamina, and attack. A Pteranodon trained for high speed can outrun a Quetzal, though will quickly be slain if used in an attempt for a counterattack. A nearby aquatic escape will allow a player to flee as a Quetzal will not enter water, though in many places this might not be possible. Bringing a tamed Quetzal or two as some backup can make the process somewhat safer, but if you have a tamed Quetzal or two, it's much safer to simply collect their eggs anyway, not to mention easier to find them.
