Bane is recurring antagonist in the Injustice series, serving as a supporting antagonist of Injustice: Gods Among Us and Injustice 2. He is officially classified as a Power User. He is a member of the Society, former member of the Regime and an enemy of Batman and the Insurgency. He was subjected to experiments with the drug Venom, which gave him super strength. His intellect and brute strength serve Superman well. Having already spent most of his life in prison, he is determined to take revenge against his former Regime masters and turn Gotham into a city where his rule is law.

For every villain that rests in the entire expansive rogue's gallery of Batman, one villain stands tall with the unique distinction that few - if any - other villains hold over him: he was the only man to literally, physically, and mentally break the Bat. Bane's first appearance came in Vengeance of Bane 1 , but he is best remembered for the chaos he causes in the Knightfall story arc, specifically running Batman into a brief retirement. The only problem is that Bane's iconography is so engraved in Knightfall that some fans don't know much about his history outside of that story arc. Movie fans initially saw Bane's relationship with Talia Al Ghul in The Dark Knight Rises as something that came out of left field, but comic book fans knew that this part of the story adapted aspects of the "Legacy" story arc, where Bane - serving as Ra's Al Ghul's henchman - impresses the League of Assassins leader enough that he implores his daughter to marry him so that Bane can become heir to his throne.
