After weeks of buildup, raw results, Cody Rhodes and Shinsuke Nakamura stepped into the ring raw results Monday to see if they could put this feud to bed once and for all. Instead, it would be the interfering Jimmy Uso who distracted the official and allowed Solo Sikoa to flatten Rhodes with the Samoan Spike, setting the men's Royal Rumble winner up for the Claymore as McIntyre scored the win. The finish was right out of WrestleMania 39, where Sikoa came from the crowd shrouded in black and delivered the Samoan Spike to cost Rhodes the match against Roman Reigns.

Ivar used his incredible mix of speed and athleticism to gain any advantage, but the grit and determination of Gable carried him across the finish line. Gable managed to deadlift suplex the pound Ivar, hit a picture-perfect moonsault and locked in an Ankle Lock that forced the Viking Raider to tap out. Jey Uso was mere moments away from ending the historic reign of Gunther and winning the Intercontinental Title before his brother, Jimmy Uso, cost him the win. The historic reign of Gunther continued as he successfully defended his Intercontinental Championship against Jey Uso. The champion's mocking of the challenger led to a quintet of huge spears from Uso, but he could not find a way to defeat Gunther. Gunther was seemingly down for the count after an Uso Splash, but Jimmy Uso suddenly appeared at ringside and began ringing the bell, allowing Gunther to capitalize on the distraction and retain his title to continue his historic reign. As WWE continues to build toward WrestleMania 40, the promotion appeared to use Raw on Monday night to plant the final seeds for one of the year's biggest matches. As Jey Uso was on the verge of ending Gunther's record-breaking run as intercontinental champion in the show's main event, Jimmy Uso intervened to cost his twin brother the title. Jimmy's interference came as Jey seemingly had the title won. Jimmy then added insult to injury by continuing to assault his brother after the match ended. This will almost certainly lead to the Usos facing off in singles action at WrestleMania, which takes place on April 6 and 7 from Philadelphia. Intercontinental Championship -- Gunther c def. With the Royal Rumble more than a month away, WWE used Monday night's edition of Raw to deliver solid wrestling and continue building toward the Day One edition of Raw to kick off the new year. The show featured a trio of title matches, including one title change. Intercontinental Championship -- Gunther c def. The Miz via pinfall to retain the title. After a lengthy back-and-forth contest, Gunther finally got the win after hitting a powerbomb, ripcord lariat and a second powerbomb to extend his record-breaking run with the title. Gunther would confront his Imperium underlings later in the night, saying he was taking a few weeks off and he expected them to get things together and finally start getting the job done in his absence. Chance and Carter finished off Green with the Afterparty to become champions. After addressing other women's tag teams backstage, the new champions left, only for Natalya and Tegan Nox to point out to Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark that new champions need new challengers. The numbers advantage in WarGames is always a key piece of the storytelling for the iconic match. That advantage was up for grabs on Raw on Monday night, but the losing team may have scored the biggest win by adding a surprising member as their fifth man for the match at Survivor Series on Saturday. But it was the team of Uso, Cody Rhodes, Seth Rollins and Sami Zayn who delivered the biggest blow of the night, announcing that they had secured Randy Orton as the fifth man on their team before the show went off the air. Drew McIntyre opened the show to address his actions from the previous week when he cost Jey Uso and Cody Rhodes their shot to regain the undisputed WWE tag team championship. McIntyre said that Uso never apologized for costing him the undisputed WWE universal championship at Clash at the Castle, robbing him of the biggest moment of his career in front of his family.

Gunther followed with one of his own off a splash for two. He continues to use the shoulder blocks, side slam and the Five Knuckle Shuffle. The ending was a bit contrived, but most of this match was enjoyable. It was Jimmy preventing his brother from achieving individual glory. The Man reiterated her need to win the contest and challenge Rhea Ripley for the Women's World Championship at WrestleMania, which drew out Liv Morgan, who reminded fans of her quest for revenge against The Eradicator. When she and Niven tried to put Carter in position for a Vaderbomb, Chance pulled her partner out of the ring and tripped Green so she ended up taking the impact.
