While some would see this as a negative, there is an unforeseen positive to this minimalism that the manga uses. The pacing of this arc is all kinds of wonky due to numerous time-skips that detract from the momentum and the cohesion of the story. Certain small aspects of those characters become more apparent and in some cases allow it to become more haunting in the reader's mind. While waiting can be torturous at times, patience can be a virtue and if the next season of The Promised Neverland is as well put together as the first was, then it might just be worth the wait.
