I do have Google accounts, and two of them have this phone number as a 2FA option and as a recovery phone. The texts just contain a code, no links. There are no follow-up texts or emails claiming to be from Google or a bank or the like and asking me to forward the code to some scammer. Nothing seems amiss on any of my Google accounts but I changed the passwords, just in case. A google verification code is essentially something that Google does as a way of authenticating who you are. This is usually left for more important things such as password resets or new account set ups. Typically this is done by sending a text to the phone number which you have under your account info, or alternatively this can also be sent to your email.
