Why cant Rim of the City be an elopement location? I understand it is slightly dangerous but I feel that the La Crosse area should consider making this a thing. This is a slightly hidden gem of the city that is quite honestly the easiest wok you will ever make. I have a wedding later this year with a couple of that are both actors in the Minneapolis Area and have chosen to give me the benefit of photographing their wedding day. We had already hit it off with a great photo session this last winter, but I offered to do another session with them because we were so limited by the weather on their first session. The couple chose to utilize the second session to get some head shots of themselves. I will probably not post any of the head shots because I am primarily a wedding photographer, But during the head shot session we did get a few photos of the couple on rim of the city.

The program was created to protect rare natural communities like bluff prairies and provide a marvelous outdoor recreational resource for the public. From to , the City budgeted money each year with which the Conservancy acquired properties within the eight-mile stretch of Mississippi River bluffs that overlook the city. The City of La Crosse and Mississippi Valley Conservancy carry on the proud tradition of land conservation in the Coulee Region that was pioneered by Ellen Hixon and other citizens in the early s who purchased Grandad Bluff and Hixon Forest and donated these gems to the city for all residents to enjoy. Nearly a thousand acres of the La Crosse Blufflands have been protected by the Conservancy, in addition to the hundreds of acres of Hixon Forest and Grandad Bluff that are also owned by the city. Miller Bluff Rim of the City Rd and Cliffwood Bluff may be the most scenic parts protected, with their large, sheer rock faces.
