Roadhog hook
Roadhog is a Tank hero in Overwatch.
Roadhog throws a hook that, if it hits an enemy, will deal damage and stun them for 0. If the hooked enemy is closer than 3 meters, they will be stunned only. While using the hook, Roadhog cannot fire or use other abilities, but can move a little bit and slower than usual. Roadhog can turn when the hook is throwing, and the enemy will still be pulled to the spot in front of Roadhog. But if Roadhog makes a drastic turn, the enemy will not be put in front of Roadhog, but somewhere in front of a point in the middle of the turn; to avoid players hooking the enemy and turning to drop them off a cliff.

Think about it… if you grab someone with a chain hook and pull them, then quickly turn your body, all you will have done is pulled someone to one side of you. The physics of moving someone to the left or right with a chain does not add up. Nah, moving them is good and should stay. Watching people get booped is always entertaining, and that mechanic just makes it happen more often. I just like the increased potential of environmental kills because of it. I mean if you wanna go by realistic physics, it should also be able to pull people around corners and pillars too. What about if they made his hook pull 12m but still have 20m range. Give back his old hook distance when the target arrives, but it if they are more than 12m away then they will stop further away from hog. This will punish people who are more likely out-of-position closer to hog, but will only displace those further away. This gives him back his 1-shot but under much stricter conditions, and the person pulled will have an even better chance of survival than they do with nerfed hog as they will land much further away from hog. People act like roadhog can easily hit a hook from a billion miles away. Gandalf April 29, , pm 1. MooshPaw April 29, , pm 2. I think they should add this back tbh.
Roadhog accepted, stating inwardly that the world deserved them, roadhog hook, and that they could scrap every panel around and it still wouldn't get them a mile to a real city.
Throughout most of Overwatch 2 Season 2, Roadhog has become a dominant character in competitive play. While he lacks the protective utility that most tanks bring to the battlefield, his high health, self-healing, and ability to one-shot most non-tank heroes with his Chain Hook and Scrap Gun combo make him an unstoppable force in the current scrappy and deathmatchy meta. Developer Blizzard previously confirmed that a nerf to the character was coming, though players weren't sure what direction the studio was going to take with it. We know now, though, as the long-awaited Roadhog nerf has finally arrived in a balance patch. Blizzard has ultimately chosen to nerf Roadhog's Chain Hook and Scrap Gun combo into the ground, identifying its ability to kill most Overwatch 2 heroes in one hit as a major problem. While Roadhog's Chain Hook will still forcibly reposition targets, he won't be able to do nearly as much damage as he could before.

He is one of the 21 heroes included in the game's release on 24 May Roadhog uses his signature Chain Hook to pull his enemies close before shredding them with blasts from his Scrap Gun. Roadhog has a unique Tank playstyle that's focused on singling out vulnerable enemies and yanking them in for the slaughter with his Chain Hook. His Scrap Gun gives him powerful short to medium-range damage, while Take A Breather allows him to remain a persistent threat, even without a friendly Support. However, his lack of any kind of barrier makes him a lackluster pick when your focus is on protecting your teammates. He can function as a flanker, where his chain can catch enemies unawares and kill them before they can react. With his large heal on a medium cooldown, he can operate for long periods of time away from his team. However, if you can alert your team when you hook an opponent they will be likely to shoot at the target, all but guaranteeing their demise. In a one-on-one, the Roadhog who hooks the other Roadhog first will generally die - both Roadhogs will fire their scrap guns after the hook, dealing massive damage in the process, then the pulled Roadhog can use their Hook immediately after firing, pulling the first one in close and killing him outright without giving them a chance to fire back due to the stun.
