Rolling Meadows opened in as a 18 hole golf course. In work started on a complete revision designed by architect Dick Nugent. In the new layout opened and featured a 27 hole championship golf course. All but three of the orginal holes were changed. The courses rolling terrain along with strategically placed bunkers add to the beauty of the links.

Descendants of these Native Americans coexisted peacefully with the early settlers, trading and occasionally hunting together, until the incoming tide of settlers forced them to leave the state and move west. They were of English descent, and settled primarily in the eastern part of the township. The second group was compromised of Catholics from Ireland who settled in the western part. The land on which Rolling Meadows Golf Course sits today passed through the hands of several of these Irish families.
