The variety of scenarios, the simplicity of its gameplay and the three game modes currently available, is all that this title needed to make me spend a very entertaining few hours, something that surely could have been totally memorable, if they had been enjoyed with friends and without connection problems. When it comes to competitive multiplayer games, the more frantic, the better so with that in mind, here's the wacky Rubber Bandits. Rubber Bandits is the sort of multiplayer game that you can easily pick up and play whether you want to enjoy it with local friends or online randoms. At its core, its gameplay is similar to a classic arena combat game as you run and jump around arenas while smacking your opponents and picking up all sorts of weapons. However, the goal of each round is to collect as much cash as possible before escaping instead of defeating the competition in battle. In fact, you can even do so without landing a single blow if you're sneaky enough. Thankfully, controlling your character of choice is super-simple as there are only 3 buttons that you have to use: jump, action, and pick-up. The action button attacks with your currently held weapon whether it's melee or some sort of gun and the pick-up button can be held in order to throw whatever's in your hands which is useful for snagging a player who's trying to run away with some loot. You can imagine how well this simple gameplay lends itself to frantic multiplayer action and it does a phenomenal job of it, too. As I mentioned, Rubber Bandits is a jump-in-and-play sort of experience with very little to configure. Even though you can choose your character, levels are randomly assigned and there's a large variety of them that will have you stealing loot from all sorts of memorable locations. Each stage has its own gimmicks, too, such as conveyor belts, switches that toggle bridges, and even trampolines. Once all of the loot has been discovered, the exit appears which is unique as well because it might be a helicopter or a boat that you'll have to leap onto. It's great to see this much variety when it comes to both gameplay and environmental visuals as it keeps the party feeling fresh.
