Even though I've talked about the series quite a bit throughout the project, I wanted to give myself an opportunity to fully record what this series means to me, accompanied by the official art from the series. Saezuru is a BL boy love series which serialized on the by-monthly ihr Hertz magazine in Both of which are later included in Saezuru's official volume release, as the stories are part of Yashiro, Saezuru's protagonist's past. The yakuza theme is no stranger in the BL world. People love fictional bad boys changing for the better or not , and what's a more convenient setting than the organized crime groups filled with men in Japan? When I first came across Saezuru nearly 10 years ago, I was sure that this would be just another excuse for easy fan service with inconsistent characters who somehow breeze through the yakuza life style, then casually romance some regular dude and all of a sudden decide to protect them with their lives. I mean, a hypersexual masochist yakuza vs. Then over the years, it undoubtedly became one of my absolute favorite stories ever, not even limited to the genre. As opposed to the vast majority of the stories in the BL genre, where the plots are generally pushed forward by the protagonists' interactions, Saezuru has a very carefully crafted narrative. I will go as far as to say that Saezuru's subplot is as prominent as the conflict between Yashiro and Doumeki, so much so that even if the chemistry was completely removed, the series would still stand like an old Cantanese gangster movie.

SHIT you guys are going to freak the fuck out over this chapter. While reading most of it I was just shouting various expletives into the ether in my apartment lol. Keep reading. The digital version was crappy again. EDIT: I just noticed a few things wrong with the last page.

As Eishin Kuga—nicknamed "Mad Dog" for his unmistakable bloodlust—beats up his underlings, Yashiro watches and waits for his longtime friend to subdue him. Kanji Kageyama, an underground doctor, at last meets the young hothead whom Yashiro wants to recruit for his yakuza group. However, in light of Kuga's aversion toward Yashiro, Kageyama is ultimately left with the chore of temporarily housing him. But as Kageyama continues to insist that he has no interest in men, Kuga's shirtless presence, riotous attitude, and ceaseless teasing might just change his mind. A great analysis of chapter 56 from cosmicjoke. The story allows both characters enough time to grow, and to process the traumas that have been told to us. After wrapping up the project, everyone hugged and cheered and parted ways. Yashiro seems sly. Everything from hatred, to assassination, to blackmailing, to confrontation has context. I'm rereading it again and I'm in chapter 23 where he literally rides Doumeki and says barbaric things. I'm extremely eager to see what comes with chapter We will keep fighting for all libraries - stand with us! He wants Yashiro to just confess that he has feelings for him, but Yashiro won't do it. I need your help with the conversation Y and D had in chapter During sex with Inami Yashiro thinks of Doumeki because now only Doumeki can satisfy him; which is hilarious because before the timeskip, only Yashiro who could get Doumeki up. I expect us all to be bleary-eyed and miserable tomorrow at work and to survive off the energy of a few hopeful images! My main impression here is that, while there's definitely been a breakthrough of sorts between Yashiro and Doumeki, there's still a great deal of fear and uncertainty in both of them. That he's not "in love" with Yashiro and wanting to have sex with him because of it, but simply that he gets physical gratification from having sex with Yashiro, and that's it.

Yashiro, the ruthlessly efficient leader of the yakuza group Shinsekai, is also a brazen sexual deviant and masochist. Having been hurt by the only person he had ever fallen in love with, he now engages in strictly physical relationships. One day, Yashiro's superior assigns Chikara Doumeki, a recently released prisoner, to the role of Yashiro's new bodyguard.

She says enough to be of intrigue, but just shy of being obvious to leave room for viewers to connect the dots. But Robert showed me some places that were easy to go to and actually pretty interesting sights, that I felt like I should make use of my limited time in Germany and just sleep after I get back to Canada LOL. Yashiro, as a yakuza, is backed up by many similar exchanges to solidify his survival. Yashiro acknowledges without any complaints. In this extremely masculine series, they bring sprinkles of humanity, vulnerability and helplessness. I think people tend to forget that Saezuru is, by and large, a tragedy, and there's a definite air of tragedy to this chapter. The dialogues are tightly intertwined and never wasted.
