Kakhramonov expressed his disbelief at the decision in a now-deleted tweet. American fans were left stunned by the unexpected move from the UFC, as Kakhramonov had shown great potential in the octagon. Saidyokub Kakhramonov is puzzled that he got his walking papers from the UFC. He most recently was submitted by Said Nurmagomedov this past December in a fight he was in firm control of. I never had fair shake in the ufc 3 fights almost in 2 years. Every time I walked into cage it felt like my debut. Feels like they brought me in to lose. But I was keep winning. UFC never gave me platform to really show my self my personality.

The only problem was that he was at home in his native Uzbekistan when he got that career-altering phone call. So, he cut off his vacation and began his hour trip back to the United States. But he missed his flight, then lost his luggage in Moscow. Eventually he made it to Las Vegas but missed weight by two-and-a-half pounds. No worries, as he submitted Jones in the third round. A star was born, but when he got ready to make the walk for the second time against Brian Kelleher in January, COVID protocols took him out of the fight.
