I sold my 22' Boston Whaler this past year to move up some and have been looking at a 27 foot Sailfish center console. Anyone have any experience and thoughts? Thanks and Happy Safe Holidays. Sort by Oldest first Oldest first Newest first Most reactions. The hull is a deep V with a 24 degree variable deadrise. With any boat of this design, you benefit from a better wave-cutting ride but expect to roll a little more at anchor or drift than a shallower hull boat. Sailfish designed in a hull step to mitigate this and I feel like it helps. The hull is thick and solid with no wood. Impressed the heck out of the guys who did my through-hull transducer. No problems with the electrical either although I did clean up some of conduit and strapping.

The only other downside to that deep V design is when going real slow it makes it want to cut from side to side making your pattern like a drunken sailor instead of a real straight line. Hardtop is a must for north east. My only 2 complaints were the width between the 2 captain's chairs perhaps side bench may be better spaced and it was a difficult boat to fish alone with the step-up cockpit.
