Sally Acorn is the name of several different fictional anthropomorphic characters seen in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. Initially conceived by Sega of America as a localised English name for Ricky , Sally quickly transformed into her own character in both North American and British pieces of Sonic media, most of which were developed separately from one another. This resulted in the Sonic franchise having multiple, wildly different characters concurrently sharing the Sally Acorn name across different pieces of media.
