She was active in ministry throughout college and joined the staff of Campus Crusade for Christ upon graduation. She would minister to students at the University of Texas in Austin, spend three years in Communist Poland and Eastern Europe, and return to minister to single adults and executive women in Denver, CO in She and Clay, then at Denver Seminary, reconnected and married a year later.

Sally Clarkson is a Discipler. Over the course of her life and marriage, she has continually called women to step into their God-given roles as lifegivers and influencers. She and Clay met through Campus Crusade for Christ Cru during college and went on staff together in Sally ministered to students in Texas, discipled women in Communist Eastern Europe, and returned in to work with executive women and singles in Denver where Clay was beginning seminary studies at Denver Seminary. They were married a year later, in Dallas where they first met. After graduation, they served in international ministry in Vienna, Austria, served on the staff of two churches, and then started Whole Heart Ministries in Their four children, now all grown, are serving Christ in different ways around the world and online, through books, music, speaking, and film. Sally and Clay have recently expanded their ministry to mothers and Christian parents in the UK. Through twenty-two years of conferences, ministering online since , and more than twenty books on motherhood, Sally has encouraged women to embrace the cup that God has given them, to build a lifegiving home for their husband and children, and to bring the love and life of Christ to their personal spheres of influence. She is the mother of four wholehearted children—Sarah, Joel, Nathan, and Joy—all now grown and following Jesus. She ministered as a single woman in Communist Poland, and in Austria and in church ministry in the states with Clay after their marriage in , starting Whole Heart Ministries with him in Through the years, her Mom Heart Ministry Team has assisted her in keeping our ministry heart beating for moms. All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.
