The only downside is the portability of the boat while packed in the carry bag. The bag is larger than expected, the carry strap is thin and difficult to manage for a longer walk.

The Sea Eagle Pro is a tandem boat that can convert for solo paddles and has a capacity of pounds. It's made of 38 mil PVC and comes with two paddles, a foot pump, and a repair kit. It features seatback pockets, bow and stern grab lines, two small tracking fins, and a drainage port. Often, what slows you down when paddling an inflatable kayak is a heavy fabric that traps water and a boat that sits low in the water with lots of drag surface. The Sea Eagle Pro combats both. The PVC hull doesn't soak up water, allowing you to glide more smoothly. A drainage hole in the back also helps keep you from collecting too much water in your cockpit.

Getting in and out of the Pro is fairly simple as well. Over all, I would recommend this for anyone looking for an entry level kayak at a reasonable price. I would also like a slightly shallower draft but I don't think that's what this model has. Build Quality: The kayak is very well made, and the materials are tough. Making tight corners with two paddlers is never as easy as a single boat, but this high-riding kayak isn't particularly difficult to maneuver. This is an excellent all around kayak. It tracks fairly well for an inflatable, and yet is also easy to maneuver. I am wide enough that with my seat in back the side tubes in the boat do not meet my wife's seat on the sides which makes her seat somewhat less stable, but my feet are usually against the seat anyway in some fashion. It bends when it needs to. The setup time is pretty good - 30 minutes, and it's uncomplicated. But with the SE, there may have been eight or nine times that we had to get out and walk briefly. But on calm days and flat waters, it's a breeze. I think I'll be upgrading to the explorer series to improve handling and the ability to use a higher seat for fishing, but I'll keep this one to lend to friends and for my family to use. At this price point I don't think you'll find anything better.

The worst part about packing up the Pro is getting it back in its poorly designed bag. Easy to transport, inflated, on a car without roof rack. Back to Top. I am not a fan of the materials used for the handles. When kayaking alone, foot pedals would make it easier to apply thigh pressure when needed. Rather than opening across a long side of the bag, like nearly every one of its competitors, Sea Eagle has created a bag that is long, narrow, and has a too-small opening. I'd highly recommend this kayak. It's not going to set any speed records, but as long as you're not going into a headwind it's not bad at all.
