To usher in the Year of the Dragon in , we have developed a lacquer tourbillon wristwatch incorporating the Chinese intangible cultural heritage craft of lacquerware with exquisite mechanical precision, creating a culturally rich collectors' and showpiece high-end wristwatch. The design of this double-sided watch dial sees the tourbillon side take on a rhinoceros leather lacquer texture to signify the scales of the dragon's body, swirling with flowing clouds and water as if there is a coiled dragon lying within the dial, poised to strike. The dragon head "conceals" itself on the reverse side, alluding to the Chinese concept of "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon," and is inspired in design from the dragon patterns on Tang dynasty imperial robes, robust and majestic. The Seagull watches you see here in our collection, are reissued versions of the Chinese Air force Mechanical Chronograph or sometimes referred to as the Project d, a unique and classic masterpiece now searched for by collectors nearly as much as the original, because it is an affordable and authentic Chinese aviation watch with vintage styling. Since the watch reissue, the movement has been gaining some popularity and following in the watch community. However, this can be taken as an ill-considered statement, as China is one of the best modern watch case makers and in general manufacturers of watches. Although many still fall for these unjustified prejudices, more and more watch enthusiasts have come to the conclusion that Chinese manufacturers are in fact capable of producing more than decent timepieces. Special Gemini cases are used for the casing of the watches, and they undergo a hour test in different positions to ensure that each watch has proper movement.
