Your Survival PDA has been updated with enhanced aquatic mobility solutions, and other essential improvements. Until every last crewmember is home safe or confirmed dead we are going to do whatever it takes to improve their chances. That means we need improved submersibles, diving gear, pressure compensation equipment The Seamoth is a one-person submersible with independent power systems. Originally designed for industrial mining operations, it has been repurposed for use in survival situations, and product upgrades have expanded its functionality. The Seamoth can now be customized with up to 4 different, stackable upgrades, manufactured using the Seamoth Upgrade Console, which has been added to your database. The most pivotal enhancement is the wing-mounted access point which enables pilots to install upgrade modules to customize their submersible for their particular needs. The Seamoth chassis has been made lighter and more aerodynamic, enabling pilots to breach the water and remain airborne for longer. With the enhancements made to the Seamoth, minor structural vulnerabilities were introduced. Without further upgrades the Seamoth is not rated for depths greater than metres.

The Seamoth can now be customized with up to 4 different, stackable upgrades, manufactured using the Seamoth Upgrade Console, which has been added to your database.

The Seamoth Sonar is a Seamoth Upgrade Module that can assist in the player's efforts to navigate underwater. It can help the player navigate easier at night, find their way out of complex cave systems and detect land masses before crashing into them. It can also reveal caves below the surface of the seabed and assist in finding entrances into them. The Seamoth Sonar will also scan fauna. This can be useful in avoiding hostile fauna in dark or foggy biomes. While in the Seamoth, the sonar can be turned on or off, by using the appropriate key assigned to the upgrade slot it sits in. In 'off mode', the sonar icon is greyed out, and it cannot be activated. The sonar can be activated with LMB.

Upgrade Modules for the Cyclops are crafted at the mini-fabricator in the Cyclops' engine room, Upgrade Modules for the Seamoth and Prawn Suit are crafted at the mini-fabricator in the Vehicle Upgrade Console formerly referred to as the Vehicle Modification Station , and Upgrade Modules for the Scanner Room are crafted at the mini-fabricator in the Scanner Room. Note that a few upgrades are compatible with both the Seamoth and the Prawn Suit, and both the Seamoth, Prawn, and Cyclops Depth Modules are themselves upgradeable.
