They treat anyone they deem below them as servants. The only gems they seem to respect are diamonds, large quartz soldiers. Like all other gems, Serpentine can shapeshift, invoke a weapon, and when severely injured, retreat into their gemstone to heal and recover from injuries. However, Serpentine is unable to fuse with other gems due to their unstable mental condition causing them to go out of sync and inevitably fail to preform a fusion dance or fuse at all.

Serpentine is a on Mohs scale of hardness, and has fibrous structures that make it very heat resistant. So I've given Serpentine the ability to forge weapons, much like a Bismuth, though Serpentine is made as more of an assistant to a Bismuth. She cannot summon her own weapon though, and is not much of a fighter. She is strong enough to fight if need be though, so in times of great struggle Serpentines are sent to battle, leaving the Bismuth to do the forging work alone.
