Ryan Hansen above from Durban Yamaha, a man I have known for many years, had this dream to add a cat ski-boat to his Ski Vee range. I can still recall when Ryan started out in the business of boating before becoming Durban Yamaha, and his sole offering was the popular Ski Vee boat. It is amazing to see how he has progressed over the years and how he has grown from strength to strength. Ryan has now become a force to be reckoned with. Once Durban Yamaha had been established he added the whole Seacat range to his arsenal.

We are proud to build here in Australia some of the leading exponents in the art of building high performance, long range fishing and working power catamarans. All vessels in the Noosa Cat range offer bluewater performance that embraces inherent safety, a soft ride and outstanding stability. The design for all Noosa Cat model series are completely redefined. Our top-quality power cats have been crafted with careful attention to detail. Shapes, surfaces and materials meet the highest expectations in terms both of speed and high stability in rough water. Noosa Cat's heritage stretches back to , when Australia's famous Shark Cat brand of powered catamarans was created by a professional fisherman, Bruce Harris. They were big, strong, fiberglass boats with unheard stability, an incredibly soft ride, and an ability to handle ocean entrances and barred river crossings like no other craft ever seen before. From those 'rough and tumble' days of abalone divers, drop line fisherman and the developing Australian Coastguard and Sea Rescue organisations in the s, the legendary Shark Cat reputation was born. When Harris sold his Shark Cat interest in the early s the company went through several changes of ownership but the development of the brand virtually stagnated for nearly a decade.

It is a little puzzling as to how it could be causing the boat to track unpredictably, the typical shark cat handling was more like an aircraft carrier than a shopping trolley, with slow helm response.

The next project boat was supposed to be a Flybridge in the 23ft—26ft range. But Jack made two mistakes. The first was leaving Trav in charge. Trav set out with good intentions, jumping aboard every Berty and Caribbean in sight. So Trav did what he does best.

Her trailer is custom-built, so loading and offloading her was a cinch. If the convergence is at or near the centered prop, turbulence will seriously affect the thrust and probably cause ventilation. You'd think the best plan would be to fit the outboards, and see if the handling issue arises, there is every chance the boat will rise somewhat more underway, than previously, with less weight. Her controls were perfect and a pleasure to operate — side controls with hydraulic steering, making for very smooth operation. The great majority of these boats were twin outboard powered, no wave breaker of any kind, there was an afterthought to try a single diesel, that never really took off, because of sluggish performance, naturally that required a fairing ahead of the drive leg, and that is what is seen in the OP picture. Hi guys, I am currently working on an 8m Shark Cat, removing the inboard engines, reconstructing the transom and putting outboards on the back I've just not seen many with twin sterndrives, there were a few around with twin jets, but required a sponsorship by a fuel company. At the stern the false transom houses battery hatches on both sides, with the livebait well in the middle.

Worth, Tx, USA. With the hull now packed with sandbags, off they went to test the hull in Durban harbour, to assess how it would ride with varying weight displacements for when it came to designing the top deck. In the middle of the deck are the fuel hatches that could easily take four 25 litre fuel containers.
I think, you will find the correct decision. Do not despair.
