During the late 80s into the early 90s, Sid Vicious made a huge splash on the professional wrestling scene as a member of "The Skyscrapers", alongside his tag partner, "Dangerous" Danny Spivey and manager Teddy Long. Vicious would later become a member of The Four Horsemen in , where his career began to skyrocket on the singles' scene in WCW. However, things didn't exactly pan out that way. The name was an obvious tribute to rocker "Sid Vicious" from the punk-rock group the Sex Pistols. Sid initially "won" the match by pinning Sting, but it was revealed that an impostor "Sting" portrayed by Barry Windham switched with Sting after he ran to the back to chase off the other members of the Horsemen. Sid briefly reunited with Danny Spivey as The Skyscrapers to close out Sid left WCW shortly thereafter.
