On previous occasions I have had difficulties when designing gears manually, using GEARTRAX has been easier and with solidworks geartrax easy interface so I highly recommend them, solidworks geartrax, you only need the data of the gear perimeter diameter, number of teeth, width, external diameterangle of teeth, etc, and geartrax is linked to solidworks to design solidworks geartrax automatically. Is Not Excatly new software, but is not part of solidworks, is completly independientbut work linked. It would have been great to be able to share software but it would violate the politics of the community.
