This song is representative of all the young girls who've convinced themselves that they are born to be stars and so give up everything, pack their bags just a few things. They'll have plenty of money to buy more when they make it 'big' , leave home, and then set sail for Hollywood only to be met with disappointment and then left with a few options: go home, pursue some other life, or sleep your way into roles. Though this is the story of a lot of young girls, for the sake of interpretation I'm going to type in singular terms. So a girl leaves home for Hollywood 'cause she knows in her heart she's gonna make it big or at least has a really good chance. Reality soon hits hard, though, as she gets doors slammed in her face again and again and again. Not wanting to return home either because she knows she has nothing there for her except maybe a boring life filled with boring people or because she doesn't want to return defeated and not the big actress she promised everyone she was gonna be, she swallows her dignity and begins sleeping with numerous directors and influential people in return for roles in movies.
