NYLF Explore STEM is a unique learning experience for bright, forward-thinking middle school students—the next generation of innovators, roboticists, engineers, doctors, forensic scientists, mathematicians, and physicists. During this immersive experience, students learn by doing as they take part in hands-on simulations, workshops, and competitions, while making new friends and having unforgettable adventures as they plan for a "Mission to Mars. Few fields are more important to the future of mankind than STEM—science, technology, engineering, and math—and few show as much promise for future career opportunities. NYLF Explore STEM is built on a multidisciplinary curriculum designed to help students find their passion through hands-on activities in forensics, robotics programming, medicine, and civil engineering. NYLF Pathways to STEM inspires students to continue exploring the vast worlds of science, technology, engineering, and math on their own terms outside of the classroom. Our hands-on activities and engaging simulations help make learning accessible, relatable, and, most importantly, fun. Although NYLF claims to be prestigious and competitive, any high school student can enroll in one of its programsand colleges do not find participating in it to be any more impressive than a normal summer camp or extracurricular.
NYLF Pathways to STEM is a unique learning experience for bright, forward-thinking elementary school students who will evolve into next generation innovators, engineers, doctors, software developers, and scientists. Students learn by doing during hands-on simulations and workshops. They also have the opportunity to choose the experience that is best suited for them by selecting either the six-day Residential or the five-day Day program. Virtually all career fields today require a solid foundation of STEM. NYLF Pathways to STEM is a fantastic opportunity for curious and high-aspiring young students to make new friends and enjoy unforgettable adventures while exploring the frontiers of 21 st century science and technology.

As future crime solvers and forensic detectives, students will apply math and science-based skills and use fun chemistry concepts to unlock clues in an actual case. Your meals and snacks during the program are also covered excluding lunch on arrival and departure days for Residential students and breakfast on all days for Day students. The tuition for the residential program at NYLF Pathways to STEM Alumni includes all curriculum and instruction, program activities and evening events, overnight housing, program materials, private motor coach transportation, and all breakfasts, lunches, snacks, and dinners during the program. However, there are no admission criteria for NYLF. Most of the guest lecturers simply give their presentation and answer questions afterward, with pretty much no opportunity for students to speak with them one-on-one. It's much better to learn this now than halfway through college because switching your major can sometimes delay graduation. All NYLF Pathways to STEM students will have the chance to fuel their creativity and academic success with practical achievements that will help them stand out in their school and community. They will develop skills in self-management, social awareness, relationship building, responsible decision-making, and goal setting as well as gain a better understanding of their own strengths and interests. Students will come away from the program with a clear view of their pathway toward a lifetime of rewarding work and studies in addition to increased self-confidence, self-awareness, and independence.
This summer STEM exploration program is for you if you are a middle school student interested in building, tinkering, solving problems, and exploring a variety of career options available to you in science, engineering, medicine, and technology. Being nominated only means someone thought you might be a good fit for the program, but it doesn't get you special privileges, and it isn't required to attend NYLF. This option is discussed in more detail in the following section. This program fee includes two meals a day, housing, transportation during the program, and materials. Envision by WorldStrides believes in working with families to accommodate student needs and encourages the participation of students who feel prepared to meet the academic, social, physical, and emotional demands of the program environment. Other Envision safety measures include: Maintaining an overall student-to-staff ratio of 8 to 1 Attendance is taken throughout the program, and students are required to attend all program activities Checking rooms nightly and ensuring that students remain in their rooms Staff member rooms are interspersed among student rooms on each hallway in residential housing A licensed nurse is available on site each day of the program Equipping all staff members with two-way communication devices.
