At Area N, low intensity explosive activity was observed from sectors N1 and N2 with the eruption of coarse material bombs and lapilli as high as 80 m above the vents. The average frequency of explosions from this area was events per hour. At Area C-S, low to high intensity explosive activity was observed from sector S2 with the eruption of coarse and fine material bombs, lapilli, and ash as high as m above the vent. The average explosions rate was events per hour. Starting at , the initial and highest energy explosion ejected coarse material onto the slopes of the crater terrace; ash emissions rose higher than m above the vent and drifted E. Two lesser explosions followed, ejecting material approximately m above the vent. The three events were then followed by some low-intensity explosions that ejected ash less than 80 m above the vent.

The vents of Area Stromboli webcam South Central crater area produced explosions regularly during July, and fed lava flows that traveled about halfway down the Sciara del Fuoco. The explosions ejected coarse pyroclastic material onto the Pizzo Sopra la Fossa, and produced a dense ash plume that quickly dissipated to the SE, stromboli webcam.

Explosions at N2 vents Area N averaged events per hour and ejected material 80 m high; spattering was intense on 28 June. On August, a second lava overflow occurred from the north of the crater terrace that covered a plateau at m elevation and six arms of the flow reached the sea. Cyr , Fontaines St. Vent C produced gas emissions. Strombolian activity resumed at , though the explosions were more intense than normal. As the lava flow grew in volume, a lava channel formed along the Sciara del Fuoco up to the coast. In March, small cones produced bluish vapor inside Crater 3; emissions were accompanied by dull rumbling. No one was directly injured by the fallout, but a girl fell and broke her arm when panic caused a rush towards the village. The N2 crater showed intense gas-and-steam emissions and few explosions consisting of lava fragments. The lava flowed part way down the Sciara del Fuoco, likely channeled in the ravine that had formed in October, out of view from webcams. Material from the lateral explosions and eruption column collapse generated two highly turbulent pyroclastic flows that reached the sea.

Intense spattering occasionally occurred at N2 vents. Crater 2 resumed visible explosive activity with continuous rumbling August, while Crater 1 showed fumarolic activity August and explosive activity following the 13th. A few were accompanied by ejection of several glowing blocks, probably from the conduit walls. Although thermal activity was generally low and the summit was often clouded by weather, a thermal anomaly was detected at on 29 April. After the spattering ended there were numerous series of low-intensity ash events in the N2 crater. INGV-CT noted that no explosive activity had occurred at the summit craters since the start of the activity within the Sciara del Fuocco. A series of explosions began at , producing a pyroclastic flow that at descended the Sciara del Fuoco to the coast and traveled 1 km over the sea. Fumarolic activity was very intense, especially from the W rim of C3. Lava flows traveled as far as the lower part of the Sciara del Fuoco. The lava flows below this elevation were cooling and did not show any movement, suggesting the end of the effusive phase. Inception of the eruption was accompanied by a violent explosive phase and by the opening of a trough a few tens of meters wide on the NE margin of the crater platform. Average tremor amplitude also remained relatively constant through the end of July, while large shocks nearly disappeared after a peak on 29 June figure In the very final stage, the progressive accumulation of lava around the vent led to the growth of a small m-high exogenous dome. Volcano guides reported infrequent small explosive activity at the 3 craters during visits to the summit on 10, 15, and 16 April, and 1 May. During August the N2 crater showed sporadic explosions consisting of low intensity coarse material and weak spattering.
