Dear Suzuki Colleagues, We are thrilled to share and reiterate the news you heard in our recent Short Score. Distinguished Young Teacher Award We seek to encourage and honor young teachers at our conference in Louisville. We ask that you, as Teacher Trainers, submit names of suzuki association of the americas s aged 35 or younger for consideration.

Its primary purpose is to serve as an co-ordination centre and to protect the "Suzuki" name and rights. The ISA was designated by Dr Suzuki as the sole authorised organisation which can grant rights to the use of his name and the marks "Suzuki", "Suzuki Method", and other similar terms throughout the world. The ISA is an organization of organizations. The Regional Associations have been given rights to grant sub-licenses to national associations or other organizations within their area. Each Regional Association has the same goals as the International Suzuki Association: to encourage, promote, enlarge and coordinate the Suzuki Method within their area, and to maintain the highest standards of educational instruction. Some of them, in turn, have National Suzuki Associations as their members, and these have individual members, who may be teachers, parents of students or interested members of the public. Please contact your specific Regional Association first concerning membership in a Suzuki association.

More than fifty years ago, Japanese violinist Shinichi Suzuki realized the implications of the fact that children the world over learn to speak their native language with ease. He began to apply the basic principles of language acquisition to the learning of music, and called his method the mother-tongue approach. The ideas of parent responsibility, loving encouragement, constant repetition, etc. The organization is a coalition of teachers, parents, educators, and others who are dedicated to making quality music education available to all children. As a program of the SAA, The Suzuki Alumni Project gratefully recognizes that our education we are celebrating would not have been possible without the invaluable training, encouragement, and organization of the SAA, which was founded in as a c 3 to promote Suzuki education in North, Central, and South America.
