The film stars three of India's most critically acclaimed actors, Amitabh Bachchan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and Vidya Balan in lead roles, and is a remake of the South Korean film, Montage. The plot of the movie revolves around a retired schoolteacher, John Biswas, who has been seeking justice for eight years since his granddaughter Angela was kidnapped and killed. Despite the efforts of the local police, the case remains unsolved, and Biswas still harbors a deep desire to bring the culprit to justice. The case resurfaces when another kidnapping occurs, and Biswas is once again drawn into the investigation. He enlists the help of Father Martin Das, played by Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who is haunted by his own past and tries to make amends by assisting Biswas. Vidya Balan's character, Sarita Sarkar, is a police officer who was involved in the original kidnapping case and helps Biswas and Father Martin in their investigation. The movie is a slow-burning thriller that gradually builds tension as the three main characters dive deeper into the investigation. The plot is intricately woven with flashbacks and twists, keeping the audience engaged throughout. The three main characters have their own personal demons they are struggling to overcome, and the movie is as much about their journey towards redemption as it is about solving the kidnapping case.
