I'm 5'10" lbs and this pack the large size fits very well. I had 42 lbs of gear and it carried the weight extremely well. It stayed securely on my back and didn't rub or shift around a lot. I'm not exactly organized with loading weight into my bag. I usually just throw everything in. I didn't have a problem with it leaning or not being balanced on my back. All the straps are fully adjustable and easy to adjust on the move. The side of the bag opens up for easy access to gear as well as a wide mouth at the top of the bag.
