By Peteed1November 3, in General Discussion, the island spawn map. So the wiki has spawn map for ASE but Doedicurus don't seem correct becasue flying over the whole area it says there's 0 Doedicurus. Someone found a couple down at 87, 78 which is way off from thier ASE spawn locations.

Different spawn locations grant different difficulties on your first days of survival. If you spawn in the north, you'd be likely greeted with cold temperatures and dangerous carnivores, such as the Raptor. If you spawn in the south, you'll have an easier time with warm temperatures and harmless herbivores such as the Trike. These locations are also possible teleport destinations. When such destination is determined, points closer to chosen cardinal direction are prioritized over others. A spot won't be chosen if there are conscious hostile carnivores, unallied tames, players or turrets in range of 60 meters around it.

These areas are the least dangerous part of the island, being the starting area. These areas are often guarded by trees, making aerial spotting of enemies nearly impossible. The mountains are some of the only places where Metal , Crystal , and Obsidian are found in abundance along with lots of Stone and Flint , making them excellent quarries and mines. Higher areas are good for houses due to high visibility but be careful because you will need water eventually. The plains and grasslands are home to almost every creature, making them a great place for hunting, but not just Humans. The snow is a dangerous place due to both the cold and its inhabitants, but the dangers lead to greater rewards, including Organic Polymer from the Kairuku and plentiful resources.
