A veteran of the Second City improvisational troupe, Tim Robinson enjoyed a single season as a player on "Saturday Night Live" NBC, , but found more prolonged success as a writer for that series and his own projects, which included "Detroiters" Comedy Central, Following graduation in , Robinson toured with Second City and also taught improv there; among his students was a young Sam Robinson, who would become his collaborator and co-star for the Comedy Central series "Detroiters. Robinson would have made his television debut in the CBS sitcom "Friend Me" , but the pilot went unaired, which ultimately proved to be a positive experience; he was subsequently hired by "Saturday Night Live" as a featured player for the season. However, he remained in front of the cameras for only a single season, after which he moved to the writing staff. Again, what appeared to be a negative paved the way for Robinson to expand his career as a writer, producer and actor.

Tim Robinson born May 23, is an American comedian, actor, writer, and producer. He first became known as a writer and performer on the NBC sketch comedy series Saturday Night Live from to , before gaining wider recognition as the co-creator, co-writer and star of the comedy series Detroiters — and I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson —present. Robinson was born in Detroit on May 23, , the son of a mother who worked for Chrysler and a father who worked in construction. In , he wrote and appeared in his own episode of the sketch comedy show Netflix Presents: The Characters. The show premiered on Comedy Central in February In that same year, Robinson lent his voice to the first-person shooter video game, High On Life , playing the role of Creature, the grenade launcher. As a teenager, Robinson began dating his schoolmate, Heather, who now works as an electrical engineer for Chrysler.
