This promises too much in the first 20 minutes and fails to deliver what could have been an excellent film. That said, it is watchable and worth a look if you're struggling to decide on a movie to watch. My wife would have given it a 4 out of 5. I gave it 3 because it missed some good opportunities. It starts out well, but tries to be smart by throwing too many ridiculous plot twists into the story that it loses focus. And then it ends so poorly leaving you thinking "was that it? Viewers who get hung up on story logic — or prefer movies that feature at least one sympathetic character — will spend much of "Trance"'s minutes gritting their teeth.
