Tube amplifier kit

Everything you need to build your own high quality stereo tube amplifier. Below are the kits I'm offering. Several of these are the same as my fully-assembled amps, while a few of these are available only as kits. If you need help deciding, you may want to read my page, help me choose. You know that feeling, right? You worked hard on something, put time and effort into it, built it with your own hands, and then it works and every time you use it, you have pride in what you did. Sure, we could buy an amplifier off the shelf. But that's not the point. My own journey with tube amps many years ago didn't start with a full kit, it was a printed circuit board with instructions. I barely understood the world I was entering, but I had a hunch tubes were going to be really cool and I wanted to get started somehow. It took a lot of research and sourcing parts. I borrowed tools to make a chassis to hold it all together, soldered the components in place, plugged it in and waited to hear some music emerge. Holy smokes it worked! And the sound was amazing. After building my first amp, I went on a journey to really learn how tube amplifiers work--what is going on with each component in the circuit and why does it work the way it does.

We have had many first-time builder successes but we do recommend that you be familiar with high voltage tube amp construction, safety and troubleshooting and be able to read schematics, layouts and posses solder skills in order to assemble any kit.

The inexpensive vacuum tube valve amplifier kits made by S-5 Electronics are an ideal way to get introduced to vacuum tube audio. However, don't be fooled by their low cost. As many builders of these kits have found, these low cost tube amplifiers can sound better than amplifiers that cost many times more. All of the kits are a push-pull tube amplifier that supply from 8W to 16W of power depending on the kit. The tube amp kits were designed by George Fathauer and the various versions have come with 11MS8, 11BM8 and 10GV8 triode-pentode tubes, with the newer kits using the triode and pentode tubes. The various S-5 Electronics tube amplifier kits can be purchased directly from the manufacturer.

This is the ACA Mini "Essentials" Kit, which provides the bare essentials you would need to get started with the project. Only 10 left! I did not try to build the cheapest possible kit, and I assume you are someone who is willing to pay for quality. And what an amp! Service was great and not exactly sure yet how I will modify them to use with a full range driver and the sub from the LX Phillip H.

In that case, you're probably looking for a PushPull amp. But then after the first one, I built another.
