We all knew Brian changed his path in the first movie, this prelude shows how he managed to choose his new path. Was this review helpful? Sign in to vote. An 8 might seem generous here. The idea of a franchise Vin Diesel wanting such a complete picture, that they create short movies to fill plot holes, is just perfect to me. I think they could stand to do a little more of that, minute segments with various characters. This portion of the franchise coming in at about 6 minutes is all silent. It has pieces put together fro the time Brian ad Dom went their separate ways at the end of the first. It has a nice little segue into the Miami scene. It gives a quick glimpse of what it might be like trying to make a name for yourself, all while finding your own way. The best part of this short film is no doubt, when a baby is born, not literally obviously, but something comes from nothing, and it just makes you appreciate that much more.

Not like "ha ha" funny. Like the kind of funny that you say things are when they're actually not funny but the person you're talking to needs the validation so you can check out of the conversation and go sit in the corner alone or something.
