We were told when we made reservations in the morning they had GF pasta. There were other options and the food was delicious. Loud atmosphere. I am super disappointed. We called ahead that day and the woman on the phone guaranteed gluten free pasta as an option. We were so disappointed- we got excited to eat some Italian food and called just to double check that the restaurant is careful about cross contamination and were told that the gluten free pasta is made in the same water as the regular pasta and that there is no space on the stove for another pot. The person who answered the phone verified this with a chef. I had the Chicken Antonio with the gluten free pasta, and an appetizer of the roasted garlic bulbs. The waitress was wonderful in checking on gluten free items. Just make a reservation 24 hours prior—they get super busy! We tried this restaurant for the first time since I had heard they offered gluten free pasta. I didn't have extremely high expectations since usually gf pasta is average and usually comes in spaghetti noodles. I ordered shrimp scampi and I was shocked to find it was actually like fettuccine noodles and tasted amazing! Not sure if they actually make the pasta there or not didn't ask but it didn't seem like a boxed pasta. I am not extremely sensitive to gluten like cross contamination so you will want to ask about all of that before eating there if you are very sensitive or have celiac.

We had a party of 6 and I was the only 1 of the 6 that had an ok meal.

Comfortably decorated and imminently friendly, Umberto's is the kind of place that puts folks right at ease and lets them focus on the important things Namely good wine, conversation and traditional dishes like osso buco Milanese and veal chops.

Were it not for the above average noise conversation of patrons , five star quality. Reported NOT to have a gluten-free menu. Neighborhood: North Myrtle Beach. However, this restaurant has a menu that is classy and different. My wife had a veal dish with seafood and artichokes in a lemon sauce, which was too heavy. Review Favorite. It was thick and grainy. Updated 7 months ago read full review. We stay in Ocean Isle and make the trip down to Little River every time probably have been there eight times. So glad we did not let the opinions of those posted deter us. We group of ages three different families have been dining at Umberto's while vacationing at Sunset Beach, NC for over 10 years. The "beautiful view" of the marina was marred by the fogged windows. Its a shame when you pay so much for a meal and you have to load it with salt and pepper.

Very romantic setting and one I will never forget. The best thing about the meal was the bean soup. A top-quality fine-dining restaurant! Make sure that you are going to the right restaurant! All that salt is burning my mouth I won't be back. Please get back with me by e-mail. A trip to Myrtle Beach is never complete until we go to Umbertos.
