A family member told Independent. Una, from Gaoth Dobhair, was reportedly on a bus at Reuchlin Strasse Station in Berlin on Saturday, having texted her friend at am to tell her she was on her way. She was supposed to travel to the Hasenheide area, scheduled to arrive in the early hours of Sunday morning. In a frantic bid to find her, her family shared their worries for her safety and made public pleas on social media. In a post uploaded to Facebook , Una's mother, Oona said: "Una Joyce my daughter has been missing since am Saturday night. This is the third night she is lost. A close friend of the family said the Joyce family were asking members of the Irish public to help them in their search to find Una through some of their friends abroad.

She was going to meet a friend on the other side of the city and got on a bus a short time later. She spoke to her mother by phone while travelling on the bus and texted her friend at around am to say she would arrive soon. She also texted her mother about 20 minutes later to say she was on her way to her friend's house.
