Then one day, a human named Chara fell, a human with a soul trait completely different from anything the monsters had seen before; LUST. After their killing spree, Asgore killed Chara, and monsters took their soul, and the royal scientist Gaster was tasked with studying this new soul. He extracted the LUST trait from the soul and was told to inject it into all the monsters, including him and his sons Sans and Papyrus due to this infertility. It made everyone get put into a "constant heat-like state". All except Mettaton , Napstablook , Crazy Dummy and the ghost in the dummy in the ruins, as they are either metal in Mettaton's case or incorporeal.
