Warhammer 40, Darktide 's Veteran class is the quintessential frontline soldier — quick on their feet and versatile at all ranges, these hardened commandos make sure they win the fights they bring to the enemies of Mankind. The Veteran is the perfect class for players who love both ranged and melee combat, which Warhammer 40, Darktide has plenty of. This build, however, caters to a sniper-like playstyle that's meant for taking down important targets before they can do any harm to the team. Updated November 16, , by Marc Santos: This build guide has been updated to reflect the changes introduced in the Traitor Curse Anniversary Patch, which added keystone skills for the Veteran class. Playing the role of a backline marksman was the original design for the Veteran class. With Patch 13's class overhaul and the addition of Veteran keystone skills in Patch 14, players can now take skills that further enforce this long-ranged playstyle, eliminating priority targets from relative safety to give their team some more breathing room.

Quickly put together some builds that have actually been tested in Damnation to Auric. Add your own. There are more descriptions in the builds themselves. Hard to use, and requires either team support or gameplay with little to no mistakes. Features the MK I which feels very good with the new breakpoints, but I feel like it lacks in damage versatility, and survivability though that second one is a pervasive issue of the class itself when trying to play it as a sharpshooter. Think melee vet of patch 13, but way better for more effort. It's great. It will be very familiar to those who played bounty hunter in Vermintide 2. I think this is probably the most reliable sniper style build that unfortunately doesn't even have executioners stance which is currently a bit too hard to use in stressful situations which come up a bit more often.

This class can be a bit misunderstood, especially if it is not built in the right way. While you make your way toward the late-game build, you can use the leveling build. This build is made while keeping early and mid-game in mind. You will not be able to face and complete late-game missions, but for that, we have another build. Feats are talents that are specific to each class. You will unlock one feat slot every five levels you gain with the Veteran Sharpshooter. You can switch between the feats that you unlock, but keep in mind that at a time only a single feat may be selected for each level slot. Moreover, players can have up to six slots in total at most. By the time you reach level 30 , you will have access to all six slots. These feats offer a well-rounded approach to combat situations, including improved Toughness , faster reloading, team synergy, increased damage to specific enemy types, and crowd control through bleeding effects.

As their name implies, the Veteran Marksman is a dedicated ranged class in Warhammer 40, Darktide. From a high vantage point or just from behind the rest of the team, the Marksman's job is to thin enemy numbers with precise shots while looking out for larger foes like Dregs and Pox Hounds. In addition to providing covering fire and suppressing enemy gunners, the Veteran Marksman is best suited to coordinating the team's efforts. When a Marksman designates a group target, the rest of the team should focus on bringing them down quickly. Read on to become your team's designated deadeye! The Veteran Marksman's inherent class abilities are centered around dealing heavy damage from long range, particularly through headshots. Like the other characters in Darktide, Veteran Marksmen receive a new Feat slot every fifth level. You can change your equipped feats from the hub between missions, but only one Feat from each level can be equipped at a time. Ideally, a Veteran Marksman is always in a position where they can fire on the enemy without fear of being attacked in melee.

With that in mind, the best practice when using this ability is preventing damage, not replenishing toughness after the fact. Frontloading your Veteran with toughness will synergize with Close Order Drill and Iron Will , which will both provide even more dmg reduction to that larger toughness pool. This naturally synergizes with Infernus, which lights enemies on fire after a critical hit. Both variants come with a special activated attack that has extra penetration, which can benefit from both Uncanny Strike and Thrust to become an effective Elite killer. This gun can take down Crushers in one hit if it has the right combination of stats and Blessings. Posts: Store Page. Showing 1 - 15 of 48 comments. Shredder Grenades are preferred over Krak Grenades since Helbore Lasguns are already great at punching through armor. Damage keystones are far more valuable. Global Achievements. Use this reflexively and often - with a short 30s cooldown and further reduction earned from Tactical Awareness , it's the ultimate all-in-one tool to create space, replenish toughness, and buff team damage with very little downtime. Proper heat management with the PG's high capacity means you can keep shooting for long periods without needing to eat the long reload - as such, generally try to reload when in-between fights. This isn't even considering the damage enhanced by Grenade Tinkerer btw With the above in mind, Shredders can then be used in two ways: delaying between each detonation to make use of stagger animations, grounding tougher enemies for longer chaining them more closely to massively increase bleed damage, clearing any surrounding chaff while softening tougher targets. Is it optimal? Posts: A core defining ability for every support Veteran build, which staggers all enemies within 9m and instantly replenishes your toughness to full, even when it's completely spent. The trick to using a PG effectively is firing non-charged shots almost exclusively, which minimizes ammo consumption and heat generation without much loss in DPS, if any; charged shots are good burst damage against threats like crushers and mutants, but is otherwise unnecessary for a majority of the things you're shooting at. If the above is looking a touch complicated, I wouldn't worry too much. Two Shredders will apply 12 bleed stacks, totaling for bleed damage. Voice of Command : It's worth reminding that while Duty and Honor and For the Emperor both function off of VoC, both are still coherency bonuses that can exceed the ability's default 9m radius, depending on if you've invested into Charismatic or not. This higher maximum is best applied against tougher targets like crushers and monstrosities, but isn't super necessary for most other threats. Securing a kill on a focused target will grant further coherency bonuses through Target Down toughness and stamina regen and Redirect Fire base damage.
It is remarkable, it is an amusing piece
