A couple years ago, my wife and I had the opportunity to buy a 13foot Scamp Travel Trailer. We were pulling it with a 4-cylinder Subaru Outback with no problem. Fortunately, the body itself was pretty decent so we really only had to focus most of the attention on the interior and minimal exterior things. When we saved it, it looked as if it was starting to be used as storage for both junk and dirt, haha! The front window had a couple small cracks along the bottom and as we drove it up the freeway, the wind pressure spread those cracks quickly!

Elsa and Baron have been living nomadically in a vintage Scamp trailer for over six years now. Wanting to escape rent payments, they decided that living in their Scamp travel trailer full time was the most economical way to save and be able to afford their own home someday. The Scamp trailer interior is quite small, but they do have enough room for a small memory foam bed that has storage underneath. Elsa also put up curtains years that prevent cold air from coming in during the winter and the hot summer sun from beaming down on them. The Scamp trailer is too small, however, to do the majority of their cooking inside. But they do have cabinets and bins to store produce and dry goods as well as a pantry. They also have a water filter since they typically get their drinking water from a nearby creek. Plus, they have a wood stove that keeps them warm. They do have to wake up several times a night to stoke it, unfortunately.

We discovered this great looking 's? Scamper in a storage yard in the Okanagan. Long since out of business. My first manufacturing client in the city was Prebuilt Industries, managed by Elmer Ferguson and operated by the Merriman family, whose principals were Chester and his son Dale. Prebuilt manufactured portable camps and a popular line of travel trailers and motor homes, which were sold across Canada by a network of dealers, many of whom also sold mobile homes - a strange mix but common at the time. I had the opportunity to meet and work with this army of over dealers and to provide them with marketing tools in both French and English. This led to our winning the industry's public relations account, which opened up new horizons.

All Garages. Next was the 4-pin wire harness. When we plugged the trailer into the harness on our Subaru the Subaru harness had just recently been installed new the marker lights, brake lights and blinkers on the Scamp were all messed up. Feel free to call upon our experts to discuss whether the small lightweight 13', mid-size 16' or, the largest, 5th wheel is right for you. We also replaced a few other stock Scamp items here and there, and those were relatively easy to do. I hit the brakes and the right turn signal blinks…. Once I start turning a wrench, the profit goes down. Most of the "competition" out there are other pickers, and a lot of them are lazy and refuse to put the time in to learn. After heavy rain, pieces of the ceiling would be lying on the floor. Every hour I put into them beyond that, I make almost nothing. Do the bare minimum, clean it thoroughly, put good tires on it, and send it to a new home. Smilies are On. I do have a small group of buyers, which helps. After about eight more additions the building was angling in various directions. You may notice some colored pieces inlaid into the chevron. Now one big exception is doing restorations for others. All Garages. As I mentioned before, the original front bench was fiberglass and was cracked in the middle. Click Here to Login. Such a huge difference! I will install a battery for 12V operation and a propane cylinder will go up front. Yours looks like it needs a new axle. Someone with more money than free time, or short on skills, will gladly pay you to do the work.
