Although there were tough years ahead due to the war and the boom of the TV industry, Walthers became a full-line distributor of other manufacturers' products while expanding its line of products. Under the helm of his son and later his grandson, Walthers continued to thrive, and by , it debuted the Line Deluxe Sets which catered to serious model railroading aficionados, as well as newcomers who were attracted by its reasonable price.
