Asked by xcraft12 , June 18, I have always been a little confused about power efficiency and I haven't been able to find much online to really help me clear this up. Warframe ability efficiency
Abilities are special skills that all Warframes , Archwings , and Necramechs possess, which are used to provide tactical advantages in battle by either affecting enemies directly or bolstering teammates in some manner. Every Warframe has a set of four unique Abilities that directly influence their gameplay and their role within a team. For example, Frost 's Abilities are based around slowing down enemies and blocking damage, making him more suited to a defensive role. Nova , with her damage-oriented Ability set, is a good choice for offensive playstyles. Most Abilities require Energy , which is spent every time an Ability is used. Warframes have only a limited Energy capacity, so Ability use must be carefully managed to prevent running out of Energy at critical moments. Some Warframe Abilities fall into more than one classification, while Reunite is the only ability with no classification. The most common Ability type. Damage Abilities deal direct damage to enemies, however some abilities like Quiver have nothing damage related but are classified as such anyways. They are disabled by the Sap Comba. Ability Efficiency linearly affects the energy cost of Warframe abilities. Channeled abilities drain energy at a specified rate. Ability Efficiency affects the energy drained at each tick as expected, but because Ability Duration affects the amount of time between these ticks, the formula for effective Ability Efficiency for channeled abilities is as follows:. So, At first, this seems fine, just an added mechanic, maybe you choose between duration and efficiency mods and get a nice build going. However, this completely breaks Fleeting Expertise. If I want my powers to be more efficient, yet I'm playing a frame that doesn't need duration for the build, I always slot FE. Makes sense right? Except now, there's a punishment for it. If I place FE on a frame that has channeling abilities, I've just shot myself in the foot. On one hand, I have positive efficiency from it, but then I have negative duration, which in turn lowers efficiency.
