KCTV - Monday we mentioned we needed a few key ingredients to intensify the severe weather threat in the Missouri River Valley, specifically for Wednesday. We have achieved those values over the past 12 hours, and we have now increased the severe weather risk to a slight or level two risk for the metro Wednesday and to our eastern counties Thursday. This is due to a steady increase in moisture content and potential energy in the atmosphere. Again, this does not mean that we are guaranteed severe weather. What it does mean is that we have much better ingredients and a better opportunity for those ingredients to mix through our atmosphere. There may be a few severe storms, or there may be more of a scattered threat of severe weather. The timing of this is still more likely towards Wednesday evening into early Thursday morning.
