It is possible for players to obtain an Eel without catching them, but the odds are low. If players search the garbage cans of Pelican Town during Spring or Fall, there is a rare chance for an Eel to be found in one of them. This Eel is perfectly usable for anything a normally caught Eel could be used for. Other than being in the Night Fishing Bundle, Eels can be used in multiple cooking recipes. Eels can also be used to create Quality Fertilizer like any other fish.
