Winter is a male IceWing dragonet prince and the main protagonist of Winter Turning.

His parents are Prince Narwhal and Tundra. Before the events of Winter Turning, Winter had kept a pet scavenger named Bandit in a cage of his own design in exchange for Winter attending Jade Mountain Academy. Although Winter was taught from a young age that NightWings were deceitful and cruel, he fell in love with a female Nightwing named Moonwatcher. Unfortunately for him, Qibli was the dragon who ended up winning Moon's heart. Winter now resides in Sanctuary with the Talons of Peace, where he can study scavenger behavior. Winter has scales as pale blue as a frozen ocean, with glittering scales like overlapping chips of ice that become slightly darker along his spine and the edges of his wings. He has sharp, cold, dark blue eyes that are described as "arctic pools" by Moonwatcher in Moon Rising, silver-blue wings, and sharp, silver claws.
