Self Referral. The advocacy service is a service run by York Mind. However we keep our information seperately, and our service is confidential and impartial. Mind operates as a national body to which smaller organisations, pay a fee to affiliate too. Affiliating to the national body means we benefit from being part of a large national organisation whilst keeping our independence. This merger created an organisation with a combined experience of over years in providing services and support to the people of York. York Mind are an independent local mental health charity which aims to empower individuals experiencing mental ill health to start on the pathway to recovery.

Log in to online services. York Mind Incorporating Our Celebration is an independent provider of high quality mental health services in York and its surrounding area. We support adults recovering from mental ill-health to help them achieve outcomes that will progress them towards recovery and integration in mainstream activity such as learning, volunteering or employment. Some charities generate all, or a substantial part, of their income from investments which may have been donated to the charity as endowment or set aside by the charity from its own resources in the past. In managing their spending and investments charities need to strike a balance between the needs of future and current beneficiaries. They also need to take account of spending commitments that may stretch over a number of future years. To do this, charities will normally adopt an investment strategy designed to generate both income and capital growth. To maximise returns trustees may commit to investment strategies for several years. This shows the balance the charity is striking, between spending on current beneficiaries and retaining resources for future beneficiaries. I need help now. York Mind exists in order to promote recovery from mental ill-health, emotional well-being and independent living. We are continually reviewing and updating the services that we provide. Please click on the images below for further information about specific projects and services that we run. Our Counsellors offer a regular space for you to talk about the issues that you have in your life. They are trained to help you explore your feelings and guide you through the issues affecting your life. We offer counselling sessions during the daytime and on some evenings and, in addition to our general counselling service, we have counsellors who work specifically with carers or young people. If you would like to experience coaching, you may qualify for this support through the Adult service here at York Mind. We offer up to 6 coaching sessions, which can be spread out over up to 6 months.
