Mahito is a battle fought by Tokyo Jujutsu High first-year students, Yuji Itadori and Nobara Kugisaki against the special grade cursed spirit , Mahito. It takes place in Shibuya Station and a nearby alleyway during the latter stages of the Shibuya Incident. Following Sukuna 's rampage through Shibuya , Yuji is devastated by all the death and destruction that took place using his body. At first, Yuji's immediate reaction is to cry and vomit erratically out of panic until he comes to an abrupt stop. Without any other choice, Yuji enters a state of cold focus and reminds himself he must continue to fight. If he doesn't, then Yuji believes he'll have spent all his time on this mission being nothing but a killer and a failure.

Yuji Itadori vs. Yuji is determined to kill Mahito to avenge Junpei Yoshino 's death and Mahito wants to force Yuji into relying on Sukuna to win. Yuji manages to talk down Junpei to stop their fight, but Mahito arrives to make sure his plan continues smoothly. The cursed spirit pins Yuji to the wall, who realizes too late that this is the same man who fought Nanami. Junpei does his best to de-escalate the situation, and while trying to defend Mahito's character, he realizes too late that he's is actually evil. Mahito touches Junpei on his shoulder while continuing to pin Yuji. He tells Junpei that he overthinks things too much for a smart person. Mahito adds that Junpei is actually just as dumb as other people he looks down on and that's why he's going to die. Mahito uses Idle Transfiguration to mutate Junpei's body, transforming him into a monster and forcing him to fight Yuji. Distraught, Yuji begs Sukuna to save Junpei but he refuses.
He attempts to punch straight through Yuji's heart, but his opponent suddenly disappears from sight.
Just before the climax of Jujutsu Kaisen's infamous Shibuya Incident arc can be reached, Yuji had to face yet another hurdle that would not only bring him face to face with a familiar enemy but would test the very foundations of his resolve and make him confront who he is as a person. Inside Shibuya Station, a heavily injured Nanami walks through the empty corridors recalling his desire to relax and read some books. He sustained grievous injuries from his battle with Dagon in addition to the hellish burns from Jogo afterward. A swarm of transfigured humans confronts Nanami and he's left with no choice but to deal with them.

Jujutsu Kaisen 's second season saw the action unfold in the Shibuya Incident arc, and just before the season came to its climax, one important battle took place: Yuji Itadori and Mahito had one epic final showdown, with Yuji managing to exploit Mahito's weaknesses to turn the battle in his favor. As a special grade Cursed Spirit, Mahito has been one of the main antagonists in Jujutsu Kaisen since the first season. Born from the hate and fear that humans have for one another, Mahito desires to eliminate all of humanity, allowing for the population to be nothing but Cursed Spirits. He certainly seems powerful and driven enough for his mission to be taken seriously, and his alliance with pseudo-Geto only makes him more of a threat to the Jujutsu Sorcerers.

After Mahito's appearance, Nanami was greeted by a vision of his best friend, Haibara, and in that instance, he made peace with his life and where he was headed. The sorcerer and the transfigured human trade parries and punches in quick succession while Mahito hangs back. The special grade quickly disregards this because he believes he's found the truest essence of his soul after unleashing Black Flash again. Despite his grueling injuries, Nanami cuts through the transfigured humans with great speed and skill using his blunt sword. Yuji slides underneath the attack while Mahito runs atop the transfigured human. Toji Fushiguro Satoru Gojo vs.
When most people think of a captivating dynamic between a hero and a villain in Jujutsu Kaisen , they often think of Yuji and Sukuna by default, seeing as how the relationship between the two is one of the central themes of the series.
