As relieved as fans may be by this fortunate turn of events, All Might's death may have been a huge missed opportunity. Over the years, All Might has grown just as dear to fans as he has to Deku as his beloved mentor and father figure. His mere presence has proven to be a pillar of support not only to Deku but also to heroes at large. That said, just as All Might's retirement served to usher in a new age, his death also had the capacity to leave a lasting impact on the story as well as on Deku and could have opened the door to some interesting conflict and a much more nuanced and impactful finale.

In My Hero Academia Chapter , series creator Kohei Horikoshi finally makes a meta-style about-face turn, by having All Might come to the realization that the assurance of his death isn't as certain as he and we have always thought it was. The chapter picks up the Final War Arc with the pivotal moment when Katsuki Bakugo finally makes his return to the battlefield , after suffering some seemingly fatal injuries. Bakugo made his return just in time to save All Might from death at the hands of All For One, who has had the benefit of having his physical form de-aged through Eri's Rewind quirk into its youthful form. Even with a suit of hi-tech, quirk-mimicking, armor, All Might ended up suffering massive injuries and looked like he was going to die for sure — but then Bakugo came exploding back onto the scene. In a vision, All Might talks to his old now dead partner Nighteye, who assures him that this was the moment of death he foresaw with his quirk, and warned about. However, fate has been "reshaped" by the youth, and All Might's notion of a tragic shonen-style mentor character death no longer applies:. This moment is a major thematic payoff for My Hero Academia 's story if you've been following it closely. At the start of the story, both Bakugo and series lead Izuku Midoriya were inspired by the example of All Might's heroism — but only Deku truly embodied it, as he started out powerless like Toshinori Yagi, but possessed the same kind of selfless heart, throwing himself into danger to save the reckless Bakugo from a villain attack. The Final Saga has done well to tackle some of the most intriguing plot points of the story and while most of them have already been wrapped up, there are some that still remain. In particular, one plot point that every fan is very interested to see conclude is that surrounding the greatest Hero of all time, All Might. Fans know All Might is the Symbol of Peace and the greatest in the entire series. However, now, it appears that the character is resurgent once again and is fighting against death as well as his fate itself, as he tangles with All For One in combat. This could either result in the greatest victory of All Might ever, or, the end of the line for his heroic character. All Might is a brilliant character and quite possibly one of the very best written by Horikoshi in his entire story. He is the one who was responsible for raising Deku to be the way that he is currently. He maintained peace in Japan and became a Symbol that no one ever expected. Above all, he fought against the tyranny of All For One and gave the people hope with a smile on his face.

He quickly shows himself worthy of his newfound powers, and takes the battle to his nemesis following the untimely murder of Shimura by My Hero Academia 's major antagonist.
