Most readers criticize the format, weight, and cost of the book, but these decisions were clearly based on presenting the paintings as effectively as possible, on high quality paper hence the weight and landscape orientation. This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers. I like some of the things the artist discusses, although i cannot agree with all of it since a lot is just personal bravado and rhetoric used throughout I appreciate his chapters on starting and direct painting, but have to say there are many better books out there for that alla prima ii everything i know about painting--and more.
