I am elated to bring you the latest episode with this wonderful soul and actor, Alyshia Ochse! I discovered Alyshia as I was scrolling through Apple podcasts and I saw a podcast that jumped out at me called That One Audition , hosted and created by Alyshia. I immediately downloaded the first episode and was laughing out loud for real. She is honest vulnerable and is able to poke fun at the occasional, and sometimes not so occasional absurdity, of the entertainment industry. We hopped on a Skype call together and I felt very at ease in our conversation almost immediately. Alyshia cracks her heart wide open share without any shame in this conversation and I know this will resonate with so many artists that are attempting to set themselves apart as an artist while doing their damnedest to remain authentic.

I was diagnosed in December with stage four endo. I had active pain since I was a teenager that I just thought was normal. Prior to my diagnosis, I was sent to pelvic floor therapy and I placed an IUD in my uterus to stop my periods. Unfortunately, neither of these things helped and only caused more pain and discomfort. Diet has really worked in lessening the intensity of the pain. Also, I have been seeing a physical therapist that helps massage and lessen the inflammatory flare ups. Normal periods do not make you throw up. Normal periods do not make you not be able to leave your house for four days. Normal periods don't make it so you can't walk, talk, or breathe. It heavily impacts my mental health. I have no control over it. And because the episodes or flare ups can be so debilitating, it makes me unreliable as a professional. How do you handle that? Now that I know what I have, I am consciously working to not disassociate or escape from my body. I want to be in it and overcome it.
